Huskies Take Down the Panthers
Pottersville, N.Y. – The Word of Life women's volleyball team continued its strong play on the court with a dominant 3–0 sweep over Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) on Wednesday evening. The Huskies won by scores of 25–18, 25–13, and 25–22.
Word of Life set the tone early, using aggressive serving and consistent attacking to control the match. The Huskies hit .198 as a team while holding ACPHS to a .011 hitting percentage. WOLBI also showcased its defensive presence, finishing with 48 digs and six team blocks compared to none for the Panthers.
Several Huskies delivered standout performances.
- Samantha Hey (15) was a force at the net, recording 4.5 blocks and adding two kills on a .235 hitting clip.
- Hanna Fuerst (5) powered the offense with a .444 hitting percentage and three kills, while also contributing defensively with five digs.
- Olivia Boyd (11) was steady across the board, finishing with a .227 hitting mark and seven digs.
- Isabella Wertz (8) chipped in seven digs and three kills, helping spark the Huskies' balanced attack.
From the service line, Word of Life tallied eight aces, led by Madison Jeffreys (14) and Stephanie Augusta (20), who each registered two. Jeffreys also distributed the ball effectively, guiding the offense with a 1.57 serve-receive rating and nine digs.
With the victory, Word of Life improves its record and continues building momentum in conference play to 4-2 (4-2). The Huskies will look to carry their winning form into their weekend games against Penn State, Leigh Valley, Penn State Hazleton, and Penn State Scranton.
