Huskies Bounce Back against Bay Path

Pottersville, N.Y. – September 18, 2025 – Word of Life women's soccer secured a commanding 4–0 victory over Bay Path on Saturday afternoon at the Huskies Soccer Complex. With the win, the Huskies improved to 3–1 overall.

The offense came alive late in the first half when Ellie Rishel converted a penalty kick in the 42nd minute to put Word of Life on the board. Less than 30 seconds later, Rishel helped create another scoring chance, setting up Kylie Butash for a quick strike to double the lead. Eva Penning also recorded an assist on the play.

Rishel continued her stellar performance in the second half, netting two more goals in the 57th and 67th minutes to complete her first career hat trick. The senior forward finished with three goals and one assist, directly contributing to all four Huskies' tallies.

Word of Life's attack dominated throughout the match, registering 35 total shots, including 19 on target, while holding Bay Path without a single attempt. Bay Path goalkeeper Seralyn Lendroth did her best to keep the Wildcats in the game, making 15 saves under constant pressure.

Defensively, the Huskies were solid, not allowing a shot and combining for a clean sheet between goalkeepers Ryleigh Gangarossa and Rachel Hay.

Word of Life will look to carry this momentum into their next match on September 27 at Central Maine Community College at 5 pm.
