Paul Smith cross country team takes second at VTC
Randolph, Vt. - Paul Smith's College placed four runners in the top ten, led by a first place finish from junior Corey Roth as the Bobcats finished second and first among conference teams at the Vermont Technical College Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
St. Michael's College a NCAA Division II school, won the race.
Roth finished the 8K course in a time of 28:54, pacing himself out at 5:47 per mile on the very hilly course. Teammate Joseph St. Cyr finished second, as the sophomore also turned in a sub-30 performance, finishing in 29:57. Robert Calamia and Tyler Dezago rounded out the top ten finishes for the Bobcats with times of 30:03 and 34:10 respectively.
James Bridge of host team Vermont Tech was the top finisher for his team, taking 11th place with a time of 34:10, while University of Maine at Augusta was led by Richard Brown, who finished 13th, pacing himself to a 36:40 finish.
