YSCC Players of the Week - Spring Week 5
Here are the Yankee Small College Conference Players of the Week for week five of the spring season.
Softball - Sloan Scotvold (SMCC)
Sloan Scotvold delivered a great all-around performance for Southern Maine CC in week five, leading the Seawolves both in the circle and at the plate. The sophomore pitcher tossed a complete-game victory, allowing just two earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts and a 1.00 WHIP against UMaine–Augusta. Offensively, she went 4-for-8 (.500) with two home runs, seven RBIs, and five runs scored.
Baseball - Bryce Murray (SMCC)
Bryce Wilcox fueled Southern Maine CC to a 12-game win streak with a strong week five, batting .500 (8-for-16) across four games. The freshman infielder scored six runs, drove in four, and recorded multiple hits in three contests, including a 3-for-4, two-RBI performance against Great Bay. He added four stolen bases and contributed defensively with 19 putouts and seven assists.
Women's Track and Field - Nithya Gutta (ACPHS)
Nithya Gutta delivered a record-setting performance for ACPHS at the RPI Under the Lights meet, establishing three new school records in the 100-meter hurdles (17.13 seconds), 200m (27.54 seconds), and long jump (5.03 meters). Her marks rank top-three nationally in the USCAA highlighting an outstanding all-around showing for the junior from Guilderland, NY who competed in the heptathlon.
Men's Track and Field - Zachary Peirce (CMCC)
Zachary Peirce turned in a strong week five performance in the javelin, launching a personal-best throw of 42.42 meters at the Monks Invitational hosted by St. Joseph's College of Maine. The mark surpasses his previous best set at the 2025 USCAA National Championships and earned him a sixth-place finish in a field of 32 NCAA competitors. Peirce also added a 5:01.75 showing in the 1500m.
