YSCC Players of the Week - Spring Week 1

Here are the Yankee Small College Conference Players of the Week for week one of the spring season.

Softball - Jayden Tripp (SMCC)

Jayden Tripp had a great offensive week for Southern Maine, recording a .480 batting average (12-for-25) across eight games while helping lead the Seawolves to a strong showing down in Myrtle Beach. The sophomore from Prospect, ME scored 11 runs, drove in six, with a .581 on-base percentage while also drawing five walks. Her most productive performance came in SMCC's 16-11 win over Penn State DuBois, where the Seawolves trailed by 8 in the second inning. Tripp went 3-for-3 with four runs scored, a triple, and two RBIs to help in a comeback win. The utility infielder also recorded three hits and two RBIs, including the walk-off single in a 5-4 victory over Delaware Technical Community College.

Baseball - Samuel Potié (SMCC)

Samuel Potié was excellent at the plate for the Seawolves last week. The freshman from Gatineau, Quebec batted .438 (7-for-16) across four games while helping lead the Seawolves to a 4-0 week. He recorded three triples and a double, finishing with an .875 slugging percentage while scoring five times, driving in three runs, and stealing four bases. Potié helped SMCC to a pair of shutout victories, 12-0 and 15-0, over Massasoit alongside 8-5 and 12-7 results against UMaine Fort Kent.
