YSCC Players of the Week - Fall Week 3

Here are the Yankee Small College Conference Players of the Week for week three of the fall season.

Men's Soccer - Raphael Cournoyer (WOLBI)

Goalkeeper Raphael Cournoyer recorded back-to-back shutouts for the Word of Life Bible Institute Huskies this past week. The reigning YSCC Goalkeeper of the Year and 2nd-Team USCAA All-American tallied seven saves to hold NCAA Division III opponent SUNY-Cobleskill scoreless in a 0–0 draw on Thursday. He then followed that up with four more stops in a scoreless battle with ACPHS on Tuesday night.

Women's Soccer - Peyton Hoffman (PSC)

Goalkeeper Peyton Hoffman came up big in net for the Paul Smith's College Bobcats this past week. She posted a clean sheet against VTSU-Randolph, then held NCAA Division III opponent SUNY-Potsdam to just one goal in the first half. On Sunday, Hoffman helped PSC to a 1–1 draw with SUNY-ESF, then secured the Barkeater Cup by making two clutch saves in the penalty shootout.

Golf - Mason Green (UMA)

Mason Geen put together a great weekend on the course for the UMaine-Augusta Moose. On Saturday, he shot a 67 at The Meadows to take the top spot in UMA's home invitational tournament. He followed that up on Sunday at the SMCC Invitational, hosted at Purpoodock Golf Club, where he carded a 75 on a tough course to finish tied for fourth overall.

Volleyball - Lilly Andreasen (SMCC)

Lilly Andreasen helped power the SMCC Seawolves to a perfect weekend at the YSCC Volleyball Crossover, leading the team to four straight 3–0 victories over Saturday and Sunday. Over 10 sets, Andreasen racked up 30 kills, 12 service aces, and 26 digs, while hitting at a .230 clip. She also assisted the serve-receive unit with 52 receptions.

Men's Cross Country - Michael Zahaykevich (WOLBI)

Michael Zahaykevich represented the Word of Life Bible Institute Huskies at the Fred Pavlich Invitational, hosted by Bard College. He completed the 8000m course in a time of 39:01.5 to finish 48th overall.

Women's Cross Country - Becca Downie (WOLBI)

Becca Downie also turned in a strong performance for Word of Life at the Fred Pavlich Invitational, running in the women's event. She completed the 6k course with a time of 30:17.1. That was good enough for 26th overall and helped the Huskies finish 6th in the team standings.

Baseball - Davis Kibler (UMA)

Davis Kibler was locked in at the plate for the UMA Moose this week, batting .579 over five games. Kibler racked up 11 hits, 8 RBI, 2 doubles, and 13 total bases, while striking out just once in 19 at-bats. Kibler also contributed defensively with a .917 fielding percentage.
