YSCC gives out Week 3 Player of the Week Awards

(YSCC) - The Yankee Small College Conference is proud to announce the athletes of the week awards for Week 3 of the 2019-2020 Fall sports season.

Amber Chasse | University of Maine Machias | SO | M/F

Amber had two hat tricks this week, scoring six goals and one assist in two conference games. She scored the game-winning goal in both of those games as well. She is a true leader, on and off the field, for our team.

Fiston Kapongo | NHTI | FR | F

Fiston Kapongo had an amazing game for NHTI. He sat out the last game due to injury and came back in a big way, scoring four first-half goals against Paul Smith's College in a 5-0 victory.

Brynn Coleman | Great Bay C.C. | SO | OH

The Lady Herons had a terrific weekend with an undefeated run of 3-0. Brynn Coleman as a sophomore transfer, stepped up for the team. She was asked to play outside and middle blocker this weekend. She sparked the team when they needed momentum. Brynn played a terrific weekend with a total of 24 kills, six solo blocks, and eight service aces. Brynn had several strong serves as well that caused out of system plays for the other teams, allowing Great Bay to put the ball down! Brynn has fantastic court awareness and knows the best times to motivate her team. Brynn Coleman has been critical as the team continues to adapt and grow as a team this season.

Dulce Moguel | University of Maine Augusta | FR

The University of Maine at Augusta hosted 5 schools at the UMA 5K Invitational on Saturday September 28th. Freshman Dulce Moguel finished first overall in the women's race while setting a new home course PR of 28:16.

Hannah Winship was big for NHTI this week in a series split against Central Maine CC. She went four-for-six with a double, two runs scored and a runs batted in. She also played well defensively at second base and center field getting two put-outs and an assist without registering an error.
