Perron and Gildart Step Down from Women’s Soccer Posts
South Portland - Three year Lady Seawolves Soccer Head Coach Adam Perron and nine year Assistant Coach Caity Gildart have both resigned from their positions within the Women’s Soccer program. Together the duo led the Lady Seawolves to the YSCC conference playoffs in 2012 and 2013. Over Perron's three year tenure he accumulated an overall record of 16-17-5 and a YSCC conference record of 13-13-3.
Due to Perron's changing career demands he can no longer accommodate the time commitment of a collegiate soccer program. Perron’s dedication to the soccer program will be sorely missed.
"It is with regret that I accept Adam's resignation from the program," stated Athletic Director Matt Richards. "He certainly raised the level of success for the program and I will be hard pressed to replace him. I can't state enough what a great job he did during the past three years. He will always be a member of the Seawolves Soccer family."
Gildart is also leaving the program due to changes in her professional life making the time commitment to challenging. She has been with the program since the inception of women's soccer at SMCC back in 2005.
"Caity has been the rock of the program," stated Richards. "Her dedication and commitment to the program was outstanding."
An immediate search will begin to find a new Head Coach. The program is positioned well for next season after going 5-5-4 and qualifying for the YSCC post-season. The lady Seawolves look to return as many as 11 players from this past season’s squad.
