CMCC Hires New Women's Basketball Coach

AUBURN, ME - Central Maine Community College (CMCC) announces the hiring of Andrew Morong as the new head women's basketball coach.  

Andrew Morong is a 2004 graduate of Morse High School.  After high school Morong attended St. John's University in New York City where he studied Sports Management before transferring back home to the University of Maine where he graduated in 2008 with a degree in Psychology.  Morong started coaching career at Morse High School as a varsity assistant coach during the 2005-2006 school year. Morong spent three years as a girl's varsity assistant at Morse High School before being named the Girl's Varsity Coach at Poland Regional High School fro 2008-2011.

According to Athletic Director Dave Gonyea, “we are thrilled to welcome Andrew to the CM family.   Andrew rose to the top in a crowded field of qualified candidates; his references were outstanding and his work effort in building a program at Poland were lauded by many.  Our expectation is he will follow up and continue building on the work already done.”
