2011-12 Players of the Week

February 20, 2012

Kevin Carr, Vermont Tech

(Senior, Guard- Westminster, MD)
In the final week of the regular season Carr lead his team to a 3-0 week.  He averaged 29 points, 4.3 assists and 3.3 steals per game.  He week was highlighted by a 40 point performance against SUNY-Canton that helped his team secure the victory.

Kevin Carr, Vermont Tech

(Senior, Guard- Westminster, MD)
Carr lead his team to a 2-1 record against Yankee Conference opponents.  He averaged 26.6 points, shot 50% from beyond the arc and was perfect from the foul line.  He added 3.3 assists and 2 steal per game.  His week was highlighted by scoring his 2000th point and becoming the only Vermont Tech basketball player to reach this milestone.

Kyle Pluchino, Eastern Maine Community College

(Sophomore, Guard- Coral Springs, FL)
In a tough game against USCAA D1 UMaine Fort Kent, Pluchino had 12 point and 11 assists.  He also sent the game to overtime with a game tying 3 point shot at the horn.  He added 4 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 assists.

Stephen Eskau, Eastern Maine Community College

(Freshman, Forward- Coral Springs, FL)
Eskau helped lead his team to a 2-0 week with conference wins over NHTI and Nashua Community College.  He averaged 17 points/game and added 13 rebounds and 4 steals to the Golden Eagles effort.

Ahntwan Harris, NHTI

(Senior, Forward- Los Alamitos, CA)
In three games Harris scored 67 points and pulled in 24 rebounds.  His week was highlighted by a 26 point and 11 rebound effort versus rival Central Maine Community College.  Harris lead the Lynx to a 3-0 week including conference wins over CMCC and Paul Smith's College.

Dane Jobst, College of St. Joseph's

(Sophomore, Forward- Athol, MA)
Jobst lead his team to a 2-1 week with wins over Fisher College and Vassar College and an OT loss to EMCC.  During these game he averaged a double-double with 68 points and had 39 rebounds.  He also added 10 assists and 4 steals.


January 9, 2012

Josh Mackie, Southern Maine Community College

(Senior, Guard- South Portland, ME)
Mackie was a key contributor in SMCC's first win of the second semester.  The Seawolves defeated non-comference opponent John Abbott College (Montreal) 73-69.  Mackie led all scorers with 24 points including 6 three pointers.  He also contributed 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.

Zach Armstrong, UMaine Machias

(Senior, Forward - Waldoboro, ME)
Armstrong lead his team to a 3-0 week with wins over UMaine Presque Isle, Central Maine Community College and Nashua Community College.  He scored 43 points and 62% from the field including 6-14 from the three point line.  He added 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals.

Emmanuel Donalson, Southern Maine CC

(Freshman, Gaurd - East Orange, NJ)
Donalson scored 43 points last week and shot 52% from the field.  In a win over Paul Smith's College, Donalson went 6-10 and scored 14 points.

Thelbert Green, Eastern Maine CC

(Sophomore, Guard - Fort Lauderdale, FL)
Green lead The Golden Eagles to a 87-67 win over conference rival UMaine Machias.  He had 22 point, 8 reb, 6 assists and 2 steals and has helped to lead EMCC to a 6-1 conference record.

Carr lead the Knights to a 3-0 week.  He lead the team in scoring with 69 points including a 32 point performance against Paul Smith's. Carr added 11 assists, 6 steals and only 1 turnover during the week

Raheim Smalls, College of St. Joseph's

(Sophomore, Forward - Brooklyn, NY)
Smalls helped lead the Saints to a 3-0 week. He scored 61 points and pulled in 37 rebounds in 3 games last week. He also had 9 assists, 5 blocks and 4 steals. The highlight of the week was a double-double (28 pts, 15 reb) against Central Maine Community College.
